Sara Chambers Division Director Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing Sara Chambers Division Director Sara Chambers is the director of the State of Alaska’s Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, overseeing licensure and investigations for 21 boards and commissions and 22 programs administered by the Alaska Department of Commerce Community and Economic Development, as well as all business licensing and corporate filings for the state. Ms. Chambers has served as the director and deputy director of the division over the last seven years, as well as acting director of the Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office. Prior to joining the division in 2011, her management company specialized in executive leadership, fundraising, media strategy, and government relations for non-profit, board-driven organizations. She has served as executive director and on the board of several associations and has made advancement of board/staff training a primary focus during her tenure with Alaska state government. She has served as an Assemblymember for the City and Borough of Juneau. In 2011, she was named one of Alaska’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Alaska Journal of Commerce, and was a nominee for the Governor of Alaska’s Denali Peak Performance Award in 2015.
