Community Assistance Program and Revenue Sharing Reports

FY 2018 applications have been sent to all eligible communities, below are online versions of the application:

In Fiscal Year 2016 the Alaska Legislature passed SB 210, which renamed Community Revenue Sharing (CRS) to The Community Assistance Program (CAP), effective January 1, 2017.

CAP provides Alaska’s boroughs, cities, and unincorporated communities with funds vital to the delivery of basic public services. CAP funds can be used for any public purpose that have been determined as a priority of the funding recipient.

Eligible applicants are notified of the administrative requirements in February each year. The application deadline for the Community Assistance Program is June 15th. Payments will begin in July.

The FY 2018 Community Assistance Program has begun making payments to communities. Because of an additional $8 million dollar supplemental appropriation in SB 23 the total payout for FY 2018 will be $38,098,116.  A number of communities have already received a payment which did not include their share of the supplemental funds. They can expect an additional check in the coming weeks to make up that difference.  Other communities yet to receive payments, when authorized, will receive one payment that includes the original allocation and the supplemental allocation. For information on the total award amount for communities, please click the Community Assistance Program and Revenue Sharing Reports.

Select Community Assistance Program – Municipality or Community Assistance Program – Unincorporated Community to find payment amount.  You will also see whether or not a payment has been made.
