AK CARES Grant The Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED) and the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) have partnered with Credit Union 1 to provide relief to Alaskan businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, through the AK CARES Grant Program. Credit Union 1 is the program facilitator for AK CARES. The application period for the AK CARES Grant Program opened on June 1, 2020. Division of Economic Development The Division of Economic Development, Investments Section, administers and services loan programs under the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. These programs were primarily designed to promote economic development through direct state lending in industries and areas of the state that are not adequately serviced by the private sector. The loan programs include Commercial Fishing, Fisheries Enhancement, Small Business Economic Development, Rural Development Initiative Fund, Microloan, Mariculture, Commercial Charter Fisheries, Community Quota Entity and Capstone Avionics. Assumptions of existing loans are also available to a number of loan programs. Please refer to each loan fund for details on eligibility and other terms.
