Fisheries and Seafood Internal Waters Processing Permit Notice to Industry Internal Waters Processing Permit Application Submittal Period The State of Alaska receives an Internal Waters Processing (IWP) Permit Applications, under 16 U.S.C. 1856(c) of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. An IWP permit allows a foreign-registered, floating, processing facility to process approved species within a state's internal waters. Applicants being either the owner or operator of the foreign fishing vessel, or a person representing the owner or operator and wishing to submit a permit application may do so at any time. A processing fee of $5,000 must accompany the permit application.
