Anchorage Office Closure

Due to staffing issues in the Anchorage office, we may occasionally have to be closed with no notice. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. During this time, instead of coming in to the Anchorage office, please email license@alaska.gov with questions and/or mail documentation to the Anchorage or Juneau office (as appropriate).

Attention: The division is recruiting for multiple positions across the state to fill vacancies in important roles. Most positions are telework-capable and could work outside our home office locations. Click here to review job descriptions and apply. Check back often as new recruitments are added.

Hard Copy License Certificates Discontinued

The division has expanded our online services to allow licensees to download their own license certificates on demand. As a result, the division no longer mails hardcopy license certificates. The certificates will be located under the “initial application” and “renewal” events in the MY LICENSE account.

If you need guidance on how to set up or access your MY LICENSE account, you can access the MY LICENSE instructions here.

Obtain License Verification

Effective November 22, 2022, Alaska is providing primary source license verifications directly through our website. Requests and fees for verifications of licensure are no longer necessary. To obtain primary source verifications, utilize our Professional License Search Tool.

If you are an active-duty military member or military spouse with orders to Alaska, please click here to obtain a temporary professional license while you apply for and then await a permanent license. (Please note, the temporary military courtesy license is separate from the permanent license, with it's own fees and requirements. Therefore, applying for a temporary license does not initiate the process of application for a permanent license. The two licenses must be applied for separately if both are desired.)
