Alaska Broadband Grant Program Revised Alaska Broadband Grant Program As the Alaska Broadband Office (ABO) moves forward with the Alaska Broadband Grant Program, on September 9, 2025, the ABO notified 10 companies, over 14 applications, that they were preliminarily awarded 20,985 Broadband Serviceable Locations (BSLs) (see table below). Additionally, the ABO sent letters to unsuccessful applicants for each of the remaining applications. The overall impact is that 22,541 BSLs remain unawarded. Following the process outlined in the State’s “Initial Proposal Volume 2” approved by the NTIA, the ABO must post the unawarded BSLs and then negotiate with potential providers for the best solution for the State and NTIA. The ABO will be conducting these negotiations over the next week and a half. Both the successful and unsuccessful applicants have an opportunity to negotiate for the remaining 22,541 BSLs. The ABO’s award determinations are preliminary; the NTIA reserves the right to reject or revise any award before approving Alaska’s Final Proposal.
