The Full FY26 CAP payment will be distributed through DGMS to the remaining eligible municipalities and communities as they meet program requirements. The Division of Community and Regional Affairs has opened the FY27 CAP application opportunity in DGMS. New communities must register and request to be added to the opportunity to apply for FY27 CAP funding. FY2027 Application letters were sent out via email and mail on 2/01/2026. Deadline for application submission is June 1st. Please use the below link to both register your organization and apply for CAP. New Community Assistance Program regulations were adopted effective December 22, 2017. Please click the link below to review the program statutes and regulations. CAP provides Alaska’s boroughs, cities, and unincorporated communities with funds vital to the delivery of basic public services. CAP funds can be used for any public purpose that have been determined as a priority of the funding recipient.
