Get a Nonresident License

You must hold an equivalent resident license in good standing in your home state to apply for a nonresident license online through NIPR.

Nonresident Licensees With a Domicile State that Does Not Recognize Adjuster License Class

Independent adjuster licensees from the following states must qualify for the independent adjuster license under AS 21.27.275.

  • Colorado
  • DC
  • Iowa
  • Illinois
  • Kansas
  • Massachusetts
  • Maryland
  • Missouri
  • North Dakota
  • Nebraska
  • New Jersey
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • Wisconsin

This requires the applicant supply fingerprint cards, pass the Alaska adjuster exam, and complete at least 24 hours of continuing education (21 general and 3 ethics credits) per renewal cycle. Licensees may supply transcripts from their Designated Home State in lieu of completing Alaska continuing education. Alaska will report as a DHS to the PDB upon request.
