The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development offices are closed to the public at this time. We are still open for business and encourage you to contact us via phone or email.

Reinstate A License

If you fail to renew by your license expiration date, you will need to reinstate your license.

Applications submitted more than 24 months after the expiration date are not subject to the following requirements and late fees.

Business Transaction Form

Submit the appropriate Business Transaction Form.

Reinstate Through NIPR

Apply for a new license - you will retain your license number.

Alaska Resident Nonresident

Late Fee

Payable through NIPR when you apply.

  • 1 to 60 days after license expires - $100
  • Over 61 days after license expires - $200

Resident License

  • If you do not reinstate a resident license within one year, you will need to retake your exam(s) and fingerprints.
  • If you failed to meet continuing education (CE) requirements before your resident license expiration date, you are required to meet all CE requirements prior to reinstatement.
