Alaska Board of Nursing The mission of the Alaska Board of Nursing is to actively promote and protect the health of the citizens of Alaska through governance of the practice of nursing. The Board adopts regulations to carry out the laws governing the practice of Nursing and the work of Nurse Aides in Alaska. It makes final licensing decisions and takes disciplinary action against people who violate the licensing laws. The Board meets four times a year and offers a public comment period at each meeting. Click Here to Renew Online Renewal Instructions Payment and Refund Policy Renewal Application MY LICENSE Online Renewal Please use our convenient MY LICENSE online renewal application. In most cases your license will be renewed immediately. Due to a heavy volume of renewal activities, processing time for renewal applications received by mail may take up to 4-6 weeks. In order to receive communication via email, your email address of record must be current at all times. You may verify your current email address via the MY LICENSE self-service portal. If you are expecting communication from our office, be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder. If you have not registered, follow these simple steps: Visit the MY LICENSE customer home page at: ProfessionalLicense.Alaska.Gov/MYLICENSE If you have an existing myAlaska account, enter your account information. If not, please create an account. You will be redirected to the MY LICENSE customer home page. Under Access an Existing License, enter your license number and Web Authorization Code, if one has been provided. This information is on your renewal notice. To renew your license, simply select the license you wish to renew from the Professional Licensing section. Valid License Numbers Contain Either: 6 numbers OR 4 letters + at least 1 number If you have an alpha-numeric license number, you must enter all of the characters in order to renew online. EXAMPLE: ABCD1234 RN & APRN Renewal RN & APRN Renewal applications will be available no later than September 30, 2026, in accordance with 12 AAC 44.315(a). Please note, you must wait for an updated renewal application to renew your license. You cannot renew your license using any prior renewal forms. To ensure receipt of renewal notifications and other correspondence from our office, please go to MY LICENSE and confirm your current mailing address is on file. Fraud Alert: Impersonation of Licensing Unit or Licensing Investigations Unit We have received reports of fraudulent communications from people claiming to be investigators or licensing examiners in our office. These include fraudulent emails asking for documents through a provided link, calls from “investigators” stating a licensee’s name is associated with criminal activity, and even calls followed by convincing license action letters. If you receive such a call, please consider hanging up and calling our Investigations Unit at (907) 269-8124 to confirm legitimacy. If you receive such an email, do not click the link or respond – we will never send you a link to upload your documents through. If you are unsure of the legitimacy of the communication you received and wish to double check with our office, you can also contact our Investigations Unit via email at Investigations@Alaska.Gov.
