Telemedicine Business Registry

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

During the 33rd legislature SB 91, TELEHEALTH: MULTIDISCIPLINARY CARE TEAM legislation passed and has been signed into law with an effective date of 10/17/2024. This legislation adds a biennial renewal to the Telemedicine Business Registration, which means that a $100.00 renewal fee every 2 years will be implemented. Telemedicine Business Registrations will no longer be perpetual and will need to be renewed to continue offering telemedicine services to Alaskans.

In addition, effective September 17th, 2024, Telemedicine Business Registrations will no longer be available through MyAlaska. All telemedicine registrations will move to www.BusinessLicense.Alaska.Gov. Please see Telemedicine Business Registry FAQs for more information.

Included on this website, you’ll find information for the Telemedicine Business Registry (TBR) and a link to Frequently Asked Questions. All businesses engaged in or planning to engage in telemedicine services must register with our Department.

The Telemedicine Business Registry is for businesses only - one registration is sufficient to cover all health care services your business provides. Individuals (professional licensees) only apply for placement on the telemedicine registry if they have a sole proprietorship business license.

For more information, please see: Telemedicine Business Registry FAQs.

Please note, telemedicine and telehealth services are often used synonymously, however, the definition of telemedicine services is given in general government statute, AS 44.33.381 and is provided below for your reference:

"Telemedicine services" means the delivery of health care services using the transfer of medical data through audio, visual, or data communications that are performed over two or more locations by a provider who is physically separated from the recipient of the health care services. AS 44.33.381.
