Regulation of Naturopathy The Naturopathy licensing program is administered by the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing. The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development adopts regulations to carry out laws governing the practice of naturopathy in Alaska. It makes final licensing decisions and takes disciplinary actions against people who violate licensing laws. Naturopaths who practice independently must obtain an Alaska Business License. Click Here to Renew Online Renewal Instructions Payment and Refund Policy Renewal Application MY LICENSE Online Renewal Please use our convenient MY LICENSE online renewal application. In most cases your license will be renewed immediately. Due to a heavy volume of renewal activities, processing time for renewal applications received by mail may take up to 4-6 weeks. In order to receive communication via email, your email address of record must be current at all times. You may verify your current email address via the MY LICENSE self-service portal. If you are expecting communication from our office, be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder. If you have not registered, follow these simple steps: Visit the MY LICENSE customer home page at: ProfessionalLicense.Alaska.Gov/MYLICENSE If you have an existing myAlaska account, enter your account information. If not, please create an account. You will be redirected to the MY LICENSE customer home page. Under Access an Existing License, enter your license number and Web Authorization Code, if one has been provided. This information is on your renewal notice. To renew your license, simply select the license you wish to renew from the Professional Licensing section. Valid License Numbers Contain Either: 6 numbers OR 4 letters + at least 1 number If you have an alpha-numeric license number, you must enter all of the characters in order to renew online. EXAMPLE: ABCD1234 Fraud Alert: Impersonation of Licensing Unit or Licensing Investigations Unit Some applicants or licensees may receive a fraudulent email asking them to submit documents via a link provided in the email. These emails look very legitimate. If you are not expecting us to contact you or question the legitimacy of a communication from us, please reach out to us at 907-269-8124 to confirm. Additionally, some licensees have recently reported being contacted by individuals falsely claiming to represent the Professional Licensing Investigations Unit. These callers or emailers allege that the licensee’s name is associated with criminal activity in multiple states. Please be advised: These communications are fraudulent. If you receive such a message and are unsure about its legitimacy, do not respond directly. Instead, contact the Investigations Unit by email at Investigations@Alaska.Gov. Regulations (also called the Alaska Administrative Code) are rules adopted by the Department to implement, interpret, and make specific the statutes. Both statutes and regulations have the force of law. AS 08.45 and regulations 12 AAC 42 specifically apply to naturopathic doctors. AS 08.01 - 08.03 and regulations 12 AAC 02 apply to all professions regulated by the Division.
