Board of Veterinary Examiners Board Members The Board of Veterinary Examiners consists of five members appointed by the Governor: Four licensed veterinarians in active practice in Alaska for five years; plus one public member; no person may serve who is, or was during the two years immediately preceding appointment, a member of a faculty, board of trustees, or advisory board of a veterinary school. Members are appointed for staggered terms of four years. Members serve until they are replaced or resign.
