Mandatory Alcohol Server Course Providers

Persons and entities seeking to have an alcohol server education course approved by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board should first review and understand AS 04.21.025 and 3 AAC 304.465 and then complete the application below.


Mandatory Alcohol Server Training

Most servers of alcoholic beverages (see AS 04.21.025), their supervisors, and persons providing security in license businesses must receive approved alcohol server training within thirty days of employment. Each server, supervisor, or security person must renew their server training certification every three years.

Only those individuals working at a licensed premises in a rural area may receive a server education card after taking an on-line server education course. All other individuals must attend an in-person training in order to receive a server education card. A rural area is defined as "Not on a statewide road system" or "Further than 50 miles on a road system from a community where a course is offered at least once ever month." (3 AAC 304.465)
