Notice of Adopted Changes to the Regulations of the Occupational Licensing Functions of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development

On November 24, 2023, the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 02 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern updates to regulations dealing with updating general occupational licensing functions.
The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor (or designee) on December 6, 2023, and will go into effect on January 5, 2024. Please click HERE to see the filed version of the regulations.
The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 249, April 2024 of the Alaska Administrative Code.

Hard Copy License Certificates Discontinued

The division has expanded our online services to allow licensees to download their own license certificates on demand. As a result, the division no longer mails hardcopy license certificates. The certificates will be located under the “initial application” and “renewal” events in the MY LICENSE account.

Obtain License Verification

Effective November 22, 2022, Alaska is providing primary source license verifications directly through our website. Requests and fees for verifications of licensure are no longer necessary. To obtain primary source verifications, utilize our Professional License Search Tool.
