Board of Professional Counselors Supervision The Board of Professional Counselors has released the following position statements: Board Position Statement: Distance Professional Services 04/23/2020 Board Position Statement: Alternate Distance Supervision Requests 04/10/2020 Notice to Professional Counselor Applicants Only hours supervised by a Board approved supervisor will be accepted. As of March 14, 2016 all board approved supervisors have been issued a “license” number for their certification by the board to provide supervision. A list will no longer be provided on this website. Notice to Board Approved Supervisor Applicants One of the requirements to become a professional counselor approved supervisor is that you must have completed at least six contact hours of continuing education related to the supervision of mental health professionals within the two years preceding the date of application. While the Board does not endorse specific providers, it has accepted the Zur Institute’s Foundations of Clinical Supervision Course to meet the requirement.
