Continuing Education (CE) Options for
Nurses & Certified Nurse Aides


Other CE Options

Education offerings by other healthcare disciplines may also apply toward your continuing education requirement. Examples are courses / classes offered by: physicians, social workers, chemical dependency therapists, activity or occupational therapists, dieticians, pharmacists, and physical therapists.

Additionally, college or university courses / classes that apply towards a degree in nursing (LPN or RN) above those courses / classes that were used for your original licensure or certification may also apply. The formula for converting college credit hours into contact hours is as follows:

  • 1 academic semester credit hour = 15 contact hours
  • 1 academic quarter credit hour – 10 contact hours
