Refresher Course Information

A refresher course is needed when applicants for endorsement or reinstatement do not have qualifying work experience.

If you have not practiced nursing 320 hours within the five years before submitting a reinstatement or an endorsement application, the board requires that you complete a board-approved refresher course as required by AS 08.68.200(b)(2) or AS 08.68.251(1) or meet the continued competency requirements as listed in 12 AAC 44.600-660.

NOTE: You must receive prior approval from the Alaska Board of Nursing if you intend to take a refresher course from an institution other than the ones referenced below. The Board has approved the following refresher courses:
